Monthly Meeting Agenda
Each Guild meeting runs about 90 minutes and follows a flexible but familiar format. While the exact content varies, here's what you can typically expect when you attend.
Welcome & New Member Introductions
We kick things off by greeting new faces and making sure everyone knows who's in the room. Whether it's your first time or your fiftieth, you're part of the circle.
Reminder: Active Tools Policy
A brief guide to tool safety in shared spaces. Please keep blades and other sharp tools sheathed or put away until they're needed.
Show & Tell
Members share works in progress, finished pieces, prototypes, mistakes, and odd ideas. This is where inspiration, feedback, and learning really come to life. No project is too small or too unfinished to share!
Guild News & Updates
A quick roundup of announcements, upcoming events, project shoutouts, and anything worth sharing with the community. We also use this time to solicit ideas about future guests, field trips, and possible focus areas.
Beginner's Corner(Some Months)
A dedicated moment for newer leatherworkers to ask questions, show early work, or get feedback on tools, materials, or technique. No judgment, just support. Many sessions will include tutorials on leathercraft basics: saddle stitching, edge burnishing, and pattern making.
Special Topics & Tutorials(Some Months)
Each meeting highlights a special topic with a short demo, deep dive, or group discussion led by a member or guest. Topics range from high-end craftsmanship to experimental builds. Fun and friendly conversations interspersed with hard-earned wisdom.
Special Guests(Some Months)
We sometimes invite guest artists, toolmakers, historians, or industry professionals to share their work and insights. These might be in-person or via Zoom. The Guild also host several in-person workshops throughout the year. These often happen right before or after the monthly meeting to make scheduling easier.
Wrap-Up & Open Studio
As we wind down, there's time to ask follow-up questions, make connections, and hang out. Bring snacks, bring stories, bring something you've been meaning to try.
